if you are installing a bypass filtered oil pump, read this:
you must have clearance as shown in out pic, between the pump body and the bump on your engine block. If you don't, simply do a loose install of the pump face, mark the area to machine, remove the face, grind or file away the small amount to get clearance, re-install the face and check for clearance. If you have clearance, you're done.
Without clearance you may break the pump or certainly you'll have an oil leak
