oil pump passage block off method, if you're doing full flow
Part number:
oppb
Description:
if you're going to build an engine that is going to have a full flow oil pump (leaves the oil pump and re-enters the block outside of the oil pump), you'll want to plug the passage outside the oil pump.
Here's how:
if you have to, drill your pilot hole with a 7/16" bit
use the tap shown
use a 1/4" plug
sink the plug just beyond the blocks surface
smooth the surface
loctite the plug in place
Now oil entering the block won't be forced down that path and crash into the oil pump, creating unwanted oil pressure there.
