Non stroker pistons vs stroker pistons differences picture
Part number:
nspvssp
Description:
Just to show what the physical differences can be.
Just fyi, on a 74 stroke crank, on an aluminum pentroof block (without the 7mm added cylinder boss built in), with Mahle cylinders (a cylinder is a cylinder unless it's an extra long), with:
AA stroker pistons (seen here on the right) deck is .140" (piston top is below cylinder top)
Mahle non stroker (seen here on the left) deck is negative .035" (piston top is above cylinder top)
The Mahle's clear the block & crank without any clearance work
Now, on the above mentioned block, the cylinder base boss is close to .060" taller than you might find on an oe vw block like an AS41 for example. That will alter the above example dimensions by .060"
Further:
A non stroker piston measures from top to bottom of the skirt 2 3/4" or 70mm
A stroker wrist pin measures .900" from the top of the wrist pin hole to the top of the piston
A non stroker measures 1.100"
